Recommended for imitation: At Schuler’s headquarters in Göppingen, 1000 people a day have been able to get vaccinated against Corona since December 3. The press manufacturer has provided the “Bless You. Pharmacies” premises to set up the vaccination base in cooperation with the district, the city of Göppingen and the German Red Cross (DRK).

“We feel it is our duty in these difficult times to make an additional contribution in the fight against the Corona virus,” said Schuler CFO and Labor Director Thomas Kamphausen. “As a company, we have a social responsibility to provide immunization not only for our employees, but also for the population in and around Göppingen,” added Group Works Council Chairwoman Ingrid Wolfframm.

Göppingen’s mayor Alex Maier thanked the company for its support and appealed to the city’s citizens to get immunized without delay – regardless of whether it’s the first, second or “booster” vaccination: “It depends on each and every individual.”

Managing director and pharmacist Philipp Wälde, who runs seven pharmacies and an aid store in Göppingen and the surrounding area as part of a family network, is not resigned this time either. After the successful deployment of the vaccination bus in the middle of the year and also at the past home games of the Bundesliga handball team Frisch Auf Göppingen, he was able to put his experience to good use: “When the city administration and the district administration approached me with the request to operate one of the vaccination bases in the district, we were able to get it up and running within a very short time together with Schuler and the DRK district association in Göppingen.”

It is open to the public Thursdays to Sundays from 10 am to 2 pm and 4 pm to 8 pm. Online appointment reservation at www.impfen-in-goeppingen.de is mandatory. The vaccination centre is located on the first floor of the former so-called model carpenter’s workshop at Schuler-Platz 1. It can also be reached barrier-free via an elevator.
