Carl Cloos Schweißtechnik GmbH expanded its management and set the course for the future. To ensure the sustainable further development of Cloos, Stephan Pittner has been helping to steer the company’s fortunes as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) since May 1, 2021. He is responsible for the development areas of the welding and robotics specialist as well as the Automation business unit.
With Stephan Pittner, Cloos gains a managing director who has known the company very well for more than 20 years. The long-time authorized signatory has comprehensive know-how and extensive experience in the areas of product development and project management. After his training as a technical draughtsman and toolmaker, Pittner worked in product development and equipment design.
From toolmaker to managing director
Along the way, he completed further training as a mechanical engineer. In 2000, he joined Cloos, where he initially contributed his expertise in project management and technical sales. This was followed by positions as division manager for welding cells and robot systems and as head of the Engineering and Production Automation division. Most recently, as head of automation, Pittner was responsible for development, project management, design, documentation, assembly and commissioning. In addition, he has the technical responsibility for the largest Cloos subsidiaries in the USA and China.
“The further development of young people and constantly new challenges in the field of automation spur me on,” explains Pittner on his debut. “I look forward to working with our employees in Haiger and around the world to drive new technologies and innovations in welding and robotics.”
Managing Director Sieghard Thomas, who has led the traditional company with headquarters in Haiger since 2016, remains responsible for all other areas as CEO. “I am very pleased to have such an experienced and technically skilled colleague in Stephan Pittner, who will support me as Managing Director in my tasks in the future,” explains Sieghard Thomas.
