On June 1, Cloos organized a customer conference at its headquarters in Haiger, Germany, focusing on aluminum welding. Around 40 specialists from all over Germany used the platform to find out about and exchange information on innovative solutions for manual and automated welding of aluminum materials.
“As a lightweight and comparatively strong material, aluminum offers great potential for many applications,” explained Christian Paul, head of application and process engineering development at Cloos, who guided participants through the conference program. “On the other hand, aluminum places high demands on the welding process and requires special knowledge. We show what is important in aluminum welding.”

First, Uwe Mückenheim from SLV Halle gave the participants an overview of the material-specific fundamentals of aluminum and welding processing using arc processes. The participants then learned about the wide range of Cloos welding processes for thin and thick sheet applications in the aluminum sector. They were able to experience these live during the practical demonstrations in the Cloos Application Center.
In addition, Cloos presented many new developments around the topics of networking and digitalization. In addition, the participants gained an insight into the complex production processes and the high vertical range of manufacture during the plant tour. The joint communication breaks and the concluding get-together offered the experts plenty of space for exchange and networking.
