Perfect edges, maximum dimensional accuracy – in order to process sheet metal parts automatically, all the prerequisites must be right. Arku will demonstrate at Blechexpo from 26 to. October 29, 2021 what to do to stay competitive in the increasingly difficult market.
Welding robots in particular are not forgiving of deviations: If there is still a burr on the sheet edge or if the part is distorted, it is quickly classified as not OK and sent to scrap. To overcome these difficulties, Arku will be demonstrating its expertise in deburring and straightening machines at the trade fair in Stuttgart.
Especially for laser job shops Arku presents the deburring machine EdgeBreaker 6000. With the laser as a tool, these companies are flexible for many customer requirements – but the rest of the process chain must also be as flexible as a laser machine.
The core piece in the EdgeBreaker 6000 is the rotor equipped with brushes. They round the sheet edges optimally: Since the brushes hit the sheet in different directions, users get a very even result on the inner and outer contours of the workpiece. If necessary, even radii of up to 2.0 millimetres can be achieved.
The rotor with the brushes is supplemented by a sanding belt and a finishing roller. These three units make the EdgeBreaker 6000 the most universal deburring machine for laser operations. The system also enables an attractive surface finish, as is often required for high-quality stainless steel sheets, for example.
The EdgeBreaker 6000 has a vacuum table as a support for the workpieces. This enables it to securely fix even small parts up to the size of a 2-euro coin and to process them with repeatable accuracy.
In addition to laser parts, the deburring machine also processes stamped parts, regardless of whether they have a small or large surface area. If required, the EdgeBreaker 6000 can even handle material thicknesses far beyond the thin sheet range.
Another Arku system for quality assurance in the sheet metal process chain at Blechexpo 2021 is the FlatMaster 55 straightening machine. Its rollers eliminate residual stresses in sheets from 0.5 to 60 millimeters thick, so that subsequent processes run faster and more reliably. Whether welding, folding or bending – man as well as machine can process the flat and stress-free parts better. The straightening process takes only a few seconds and achieves reproducible results. The FlatMaster 55 offers servo-hydraulic straightening gap control and is equipped with hydraulic overload protection to protect the drive and straightening unit.
