Powerful, durable and easy to operate – the new Tetrix XQ 230 from EWM enables TIG welding at the highest level. Users benefit from the latest technology to achieve optimum welding results with a perfect weld seam. EWM has placed particular emphasis on improved user-friendliness. The new control system with its 7-inch colour display is particularly clearly designed and intuitive to operate, and provides optimum support when setting parameters. Welding tasks are individually programmable and can be recalled at any time.

With the new Tetrix XQ 230, EWM AG offers its customers a special welding experience. The TIG welder is enormously powerful with a current of up to 230 A and can be connected directly to a single-phase 230 V socket. Whether on the construction site or in the industrial sector – the welding device enables permanent work even with weak mains, with long mains supply lines or in generator operation. Depending on the welding task, the user can choose from numerous TIG and E-Hand functions. Up to four pulse variants are available for this purpose.

Users benefit from ideal welding properties with a significantly more stable arc and optimum weld seams. The Tetrix XQ 230 is available as a DC and AC/DC version and thus covers a wide range of applications. Different materials can be welded perfectly: from low-alloy and high-alloy steels to aluminium and aluminium alloys, non-ferrous metals and titanium. The range of applications extends from the food industry to aerospace, the chemical industry, mechanical and plant engineering, and the metalworking trade.

Easy and intuitive to use

According to the supplier, a particular strength of the new Tetrix XQ 230 is its user-friendliness. In addition to the proven Comfort 3.0 control system, the new Expert 3.0 control system, which has a high-resolution 7-inch colour display, is also available. This provides a clear display of all parameter settings and flowcharts. All functions are directly accessible and numerous illustrated instructions and quick menus provide additional support for operation.

The controls can be precisely adjusted via the ergonomic click-wheel. A touchscreen was deliberately omitted to allow comfortable operation even with welding gloves. The user can program five individual welding tasks as favourites and call them up simply by pressing a button.

Well thought out down to the last detail

Many other details ensure an improved work process. The operating status is visible at all times via the integrated LED bar. The ergonomic design of the TIG welder makes working safe and easy. Due to the robust design, the device is also suitable for use in harsh environments.

The control unit is protected from dirt by a flap, but can also be operated when the flap is closed. Another plus: the quiet, temperature-controlled fan with optimized airflow. The Tetrix XQ 230 can be optionally equipped with a cooling unit, welding torch and trolley for transport on construction sites or in the workshop. The Cool XQ water-based cooling system enables continuous operation of the welding torch even with high welding currents, maximum loads and unfavourable ambient conditions.
