Control welding current safely and precisely with your foot

More comfort during TIG welding – with the new RTF-X TIG 19-pole foot remote control from EWM, the current can be continuously adjusted during welding. Whether root welding or welding in constrained positions – users benefit from increased safety, control and flexibility.

While the welding machine is usually set to a specific welding current and this generally remains constant, it is necessary to vary the welding current in individual cases. Examples of this are contour welding or welding gaps of different sizes. If the current can be regulated, the result is a clean and even seam. When welding aluminum, it also makes sense to regulate the current depending on the temperature during the process. This is possible via built-in buttons on the welding torch. The disadvantage: The user has to operate the buttons with their hands during the welding process. The power can be controlled much more safely and conveniently with the new foot-operated remote control from EWM.

Foot remote control with new features

The foot remote control from EWM is stable and has a non-slip base. Rubber feet ensure a secure stand. A stainless steel bracket allows individual positioning underneath the table. It can be changed as required during the welding process without having to interrupt it.

Depending on requirements, the bracket can be mounted on the left or right side. The welding current is increased by pressing the pedal. The welding current can be precisely adjusted to achieve the desired weld seam quality. The big advantage: the user has both hands free and can concentrate fully on the welding process. This enables him to achieve optimum results even when welding in constrained positions. Thanks to its 19-pin connector, the foot-operated remote control is compatible with all TIG welding machines – whether Picotig, Tetrix or Tetrix XQ – as well as EWM’s plasma welding machines.
