Lantek, provider of software for the metalworking industry, has signed a cooperation agreement with Machitech. The Canadian company specializes in laser, plasma and oxyfuel cutting systems and will integrate Lantek’s software into its machines.
The new partnership is a further step in Lantek’s international growth strategy, according to the Spanish software provider. It strengthens Lantek’s collaboration with machine builders in North America and Europe. Machitech plans to equip its Fiber Prime S laser cutting machines with Lantek Expert Cut software and its Fiber Tube XL tube cutting laser system with Lantek Flex 3D Tubes.
Canadian technology with a strong industrial focus
The Canadian company Machitech, based in Quebec, develops individual machines, particularly with high-performance plasma and oxyfuel cutting technology for a specialized market segment. Recently, the expert in CNC cutting systems has expanded its portfolio to include steel construction, structural profiles and pipe cutting.
The Fiber Prime S series works with lasers from 12 to 60 kW and includes bevel cutting functions for processing thick steel. The XL version is designed for very long parts and is equipped with touchscreen control and remote control systems.
Accordingly, Machitech has opted for a special CAD/CAM software: Lantek Expert Cut comes with special 2D nesting functions, allows the creation of cutting lines and the direct processing of 3D geometries via the Assembly 2 Nest (A2N) importer in one working environment.
For cutting tubes, the Fiber Tube XL machine works with Lantek Flex 3D Tubes, a software specially designed for processing large-diameter tubes and profiles. The laser system can process round and square tubes, HSS profiles and small beams up to 12 m in length. The software enables the design, nesting and processing of parts directly on the tube or profile as well as the import of SAT and IGES files. Real-time process simulations and parameter adjustments help to reduce risks, improve cutting quality and protect machine components.
Message for the European market
“This collaboration reflects the kind of growth we are looking for at Lantek. A Canadian manufacturer like Machitech is in line with our strategy to expand internationally alongside partners who value technology, reliability and technical expertise,” says Juan José Colas Lastra, Sales and Marketing Manager at Lantek. Simon Croteau, Vice President of Marketing at Machitech, adds: “Our customers were looking for proven software that could be integrated into their processes and machines. Lantek is an established player in the industry and fits our manufacturing concept.”
