Practical knowledge for machine safety

© Pilz GmbH & Co. KG

From the beginning of 2024, Pilz will be on the road throughout Germany with a new program of its “Automation on Tour” seminar series. In a total of 32 sessions of the classroom seminar “Machine safety for manufacturers and operators”, participants receive free practical knowledge on safety-related issues relating to their machinery. Those who are unable to attend on site have the opportunity to gain, deepen or refresh their knowledge via the “Web compact” online format. The face-to-face seminars focus on the challenges of the new Machinery Ordinance (MVO) and the resulting safety-related issues.

The online seminars cover a wide range of topics – from safety gate monitoring to “smart automation in the packaging industry” and “safety in battery cell production”.

Machinery Ordinance explained simply and practically

The new MVO has a transitional period of 42 months after its publication on 29.06.2023. Sooner or later, manufacturers and operators will have to deal with the requirements of the MVO. Pilz provides support in its series of seminars with the aim of making machinery safety manageable and practicable for everyone.
The changes compared to the previous Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC are highlighted using a practical example: both for new machines and with regard to the effects on existing machines. Which concepts are effective and how do safety and security go hand in hand on the machine? This allows participants to prepare themselves optimally.

Know-how remotely and from anywhere

In addition to the face-to-face events, interested parties can gain, deepen or refresh their knowledge in the online format “Web compact”. In addition to know-how on how to “understand and implement the new Machinery Directive”, the web seminar focuses on topics as diverse as “optimizing automation processes”, “intelligent safety gate monitoring”, “innovative approaches for safe machines with I/O Link Safety”, “smart automation in the packaging industry” and “safety in battery cell production”.
