Kasto promises visitors to the Emo trade fair (September 18 to 23) in Hanover a world first: In Hall 3 at Stand B08, the saw and storage technology specialist will be showing a fully automated system for preprocessing. The unmanned concept enables 24/7 operation. Also of interest to metalworkers are the Kastotec AC 4 high-performance production saw and the SmartSolutions Corner, where Kasto brings its digital solutions to life.

The motto of EMO 2023 is “Innovative Manufacturing”, and this is exactly where Kasto’s new solution comes in. This enables fully automated preprocessing in unmanned 24/7 operation. For this purpose, the experts combine proven components to create a newly designed, highly productive solution that works in the tightest of spaces. The plant can be seen and experienced for the first time at the trade fair.

Immerse yourself in the world of automation

Another highlight at the booth is the digital world of Kasto. To enable visitors to dive deep into this area, there is a separate area called the SmartSolutions Corner. Those who are there live can get an idea of the potential that lies in digitization. With Kasto’s solutions, the processes around storage, sawing and material handling can be holistically automated and optimized from a single source.

The specialists will be presenting, for example, the Kastologic Warehouse Management System (WMS), which they have designed for long goods and sheet metal storage. This enables users to control and monitor not only the processes in the warehouse, but also the logistics and processing steps before and after. Users can even integrate manually operated areas into the system via the Kastologic mobile app and transmit all processes such as stock placements and transfers, picking, shipping and inventory information to the WMS via smartphone or tablet. A so-called pick-by-crane system can also be implemented effortlessly with Kastologic mobile: In this case, the operator uses the app to commission a connected overhead crane, which independently positions the desired storage and retrieval processes under pushbutton control using the corresponding coordinates. Also part of the digital offer are the saw plan generation Kastooptisaw as well as the interactive remote maintenance solution Kasto VisualAssistance.

Also on display at the trade show: The Kastotec AC 4 automatic bandsaw – a fully hydraulic heavy-duty saw with horizontally parallel moving saw band. The saw cuts round, square and flat material as well as tubes and profiles in all qualities. It is especially suitable for tool steels as well as materials that are difficult to machine, such as titanium, Hastelloy or Inconel. High sawing performance was clearly the focus of the developers.

The automatic sawing machines combine solid heavy machine construction with innovative control technology. The control system used automatically links the cutting technology with the corresponding material quality and the saw band. It then stores this data. Thanks to Kasto’s smart concept, the saw is easy to integrate into automation solutions. This creates a continuously controlled and intelligent material flow.
