BMZ Group, a global specialist in lithium-ion battery manufacturing, and Amada Weld Tech, innovator in creative joining and metalworking solutions, are further expanding their business partnership. BMZ signed a contract for an 11 million euro investment to purchase welding systems for battery production. This significant investment in BMZ’s German production capabilities is designed to meet growing demand in the booming market for energy storage solutions.
Welding is one of the core processes in battery production and at the same time a bottleneck of the entire production process. As a key player (white label and BMZ products) in the market for energy storage solutions, BMZ secures its market position by investing in the expansion of production capacities at an early stage. As a result, exponentially increasing customer demand can continue to be served.
The energy storage market is expected to almost quadruple its global volume by 2027. On the one hand, the increasing demand is due to the spreading collective sense of responsibility of companies and homeowners to participate in the energy turnaround in the interest of climate development. In addition, the desire for energy self-sufficiency among entrepreneurs and real estate owners, caused by rising energy prices, is increasingly emerging on the world market.
With this latest major investment in German production capacities, BMZ not only strengthens its own market position and the Made in Germany share in the global energy transition, but also secures existing and creates numerous new jobs in the industrial competence field on the Bavarian Lower Main.
BMZ CEO and founder Sven Bauer commented, “BMZ and Amada Weld Tech share a long-standing, trusting and understanding business relationship, and we are glad to have such a strong and experienced partner on our side when it comes to such a major investment in our future viability.”
Dave Fawcett – CEO of Amada Weld Tech’s European and American operations – adds, “Having supplied our valued customer BMZ with many of our ASW-3 Jupiter RW resistance welding systems in the past, this latest major order is our largest deal with BMZ to date. We look forward to fulfilling this order and continuing our successful business partnership in the future.”
