Systraplan relies exclusively on an electromechanical drive concept for its panel and blank turner. According to the manufacturer, the unit offers three advantages. The first is greater precision and controllability. Electric drives, especially in combination with rotary encoders and frequency converters, enable the exact control of position, speed and, above all, force (contact pressure).
Secondly, the tedder is comparatively low-maintenance: The elimination of oil, hoses, seals and filters, which are essential for hydraulic drives, eliminates the risk of leaks and reduces maintenance costs and downtimes.
Thirdly, energy efficiency increases. This is because electrical systems only consume energy when they are actively working. Hydraulic systems often require energy to maintain a constant idle pressure.
