The 16th Stamping Technology Congress will take place on April 20 and 21, 2026 at the Westfalenhallen Congress Center in Dortmund.

Under the motto “Quo Vadis Stamping Technology?”, the two-day program with specialist presentations by experts from industry and research is dedicated to three central future topics of the industry.

Language models for punching technology

The interdisciplinary part of the program will focus on the application of AI language models in production technology. There will be keynote speeches and a panel discussion on the morning of the second day of the congress. Specific applications of large language models for SMEs will be presented and discussed.

Smart production and materials in transition

The second focus is on intelligent automation solutions under the motto “Smart Production Lines”. The third topic, “Materials in transition: Powerful – Durable – Sustainable”, focuses on new and robust materials and standard parts.

The traditional evening event on the first day offers the proven informal setting for a detailed exchange of experiences and networking.
Over 200 experts and interested parties from German-speaking countries and neighboring countries are expected to attend. A trade exhibition with over 30 well-known companies from the industry will accompany the punching congress.

Experts from research, associations and industry

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Wolfram Volk and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hartmut Hoffmann from the Chair of Forming Technology and Foundry Engineering (UTG) at the Technical University of Munich were once again responsible for the content of the event.

They are supported by an advisory board that includes numerous other experts from associations and industry. These include Bärbel Kapfer, Alfred Konrad Veith GmbH, Mathias Bihler, Otto Bihler Maschinenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG, Ralf Duerrwächter, VDWF & FDWF, Patrick Großhaus, Egon Großhaus GmbH, Dr. Michael Hagedorn, VDFI, Bernhard Jacobs, IBU and Achim Kuhli, Bruderer GmbH.The congress is also supported by the “Industrieverband Blechumformung” (IBU) and the Dortmund Economic Development Agency. The renowned stamping congress is once again being organized by the Dortmund event agency Strategie X.
