Laserline, the diode laser specialist, is expanding its company management in order to position itself optimally for further growth. Dr. Claus Narr has been the third Managing Director since January 1, 2025. The doctor of mechanical engineering can already look back on more than 13 successful years at the company and will manage Laserline together with the founders Dr. Christoph Ullmann and Volker Krause.
Laserline, a leading international developer and manufacturer of diode lasers for industrial material processing, is expanding its top management team: Dr. Claus Narr has been the third Managing Director alongside company founders Dr. Christoph Ullmann and Volker Krause since 1 January 2025. He completed his doctorate in mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen University and was Group Leader for Production Logistics and Managing Director of the RWTH start-up MyOpenFactory during his time at the Machine Tool Laboratory. Dr. Claus Narr has been with Laserline since 2011 and has held various key positions.
He started out as an assistant to the management and supported the management in establishing a branch in Shanghai/China and in expanding production and administrative capacities at the headquarters in Mülheim-Kärlich. He also took over production management in the area of compact diode lasers and later became Head of Quality Management and Service. Most recently, he was Head of Production and Service. In 2021, he was appointed Managing Director of the new subsidiary Backes Electronic. As a member of the Laserline management team, he will support the founders in managing the operational business in the future.

Laserline GmbH, based in Mülheim-Kärlich near Koblenz, was founded in 1997. The company is one of the world leaders in the development and manufacture of efficient, modular diode laser systems with blue and infrared wavelengths. Laserline high-power diode lasers achieve output powers of up to 60 KW and an electrical efficiency (WPE) of over 50 percent.
