Fluke Corporation has introduced new AI features for its E-Maint CMMS/EAM software. These features will be available as part of a beta update and incorporate specially developed AI tools into daily maintenance workflows.

AI features enable faster decision-making, safer maintenance, and greater workforce efficiency. With AI tools, maintenance teams can access and analyze equipment data, convert equipment documentation into specific tasks and procedures, and generate work orders based on voice commands. According to Fluke, these are based on customer feedback regarding the factors that slow them down on a daily basis.

Smarter maintenance is accelerating

The beta version of E-Maint improves maintenance by providing faster access to documentation, clearer insights into manuals, and support via mobile devices. This first generation of the software integrates into existing workflows and helps technicians work more efficiently without requiring AI expertise. By simplifying access to information and promoting consistent task execution, the technology complements—rather than replaces—human expertise, allowing teams to focus on solving higher-value problems. The features are now available to select customers. A broader rollout is planned following further optimization.

One new feature is the ability to get instant answers based on a company’s own maintenance data. Users can request summarized information on work orders, equipment, parts, and maintenance history via voice commands. The AI-generated answers can be refined, filtered, or customized. Users can access AI-powered responses based on documents and maintenance data in the E-Maint mobile app, using voice commands and hands-free functionality for field technicians.

AI provides specific instructions on how to perform the work

The SOP Builder automatically generates standard operating procedures and preventive maintenance tasks from manuals, document archives, and other technical documents. This can reduce the time required to create PM tasks by 50 percent or more. Once created, E-Maint can prompt technicians to follow key steps, thereby improving consistency, safety, and knowledge retention.

In addition, the documentation becomes actionable: The AI features in E-Maint convert original manufacturer manuals into concise instructions. This allows technicians to ask direct questions and even receive multilingual answers. It also enables hands-free creation of work orders via voice input, with recordings automatically converted into structured work orders so that issues are immediately captured in the workflow.

“With this new version of E-Maint, we’re bringing the power of artificial intelligence directly to the maintenance professionals who keep operations running,” says Jay Hack, General Manager of Fluke Corporation. “This beta version isn’t about experimentation. It’s about transforming the way maintenance work is performed by turning complex data and manuals into actionable insights and helping teams make smarter, faster decisions.”
