With the compact servo amplifiers PMC SI6 and the servo amplifiers PMC SC6 from Pilz, drive-integrated safe motion can now be implemented easily and up to the highest level of safety PL e. This is ensured by the safety functions integrated directly in the drive.
The open drive solution can be used independently of motor types and feedback systems. Machines and systems can run productively and with a high level of availability, even with the most diverse requirements. Both servo drives have safe motion functions in accordance with EN 61800-5-2 up to PL e as well as motion monitoring functions. They ensure safety by evaluating internal system variables. A second encoder is not required to achieve SIL 3 or PL e. The solution using just one standard feedback system reduces the overall costs.
Numerous safety functions quickly connected
The Safe Motion functions include numerous safe stop functions, motion functions and braking functions such as SS1, SS2, SOS and SLS. FSoE (FailSafe over EtherCAT) allows users to quickly and easily integrate this solution into the machine’s safety concept. FSoE also ensures safe cross-communication between the drives. The connection via FSoE saves wiring work and increases safety during application setup. Commissioning can therefore take place more quickly.
Servo amplifiers from stand-alone to multi-axis applications
The PMC SI6 and PMC SC6 servo drives are suitable for multi-axis applications in compact to large machines and systems. The stand-alone drive controller PMC SC6 is suitable for compact machines and systems with two to four axes. The scalable multi-axis solution with the PMC SI6 servo drives is used for machines and systems with more than four axes. These axis modules are supplied with power from the baying technology via the central supply module PMC PS6. This means that a separate power supply unit is not required, providing users with a cost-saving solution. In combination with the industrial PC IndustrialPI used as a soft PLC, the servomotors PMC EZ and the configurable safe small controller PNOZmulti 2, Pilz users receive a complete, safe and economical drive solution from a single source.
