Oxyfuel and plasma cutting as well as MIG/MAG welding with just one portable and flexible hand cutting machine – the Secator 2 from Messer Cutting Systems (MCS) combines three processes. This means that maximum productivity and cost-effectiveness can be expected in sheet metal processing.

Each cutting method has its advantages and disadvantages: With oxyfuel cutting, for example, higher material thicknesses can be cut, and with plasma cutting higher accuracy and cutting speed can be achieved. The Secator 2 from Messer Cutting Systems can do both – and additionally MIG/MAG welding.

Whether straight cuts, curves, circles, bevels or strips – the flexible semi-automatic process of the hand cutting machine ensures excellent machining results and delivers outstanding weld preparation for all applications. The powerful capacitor induction motor (155 to 230 V, 50 to 60 Hz) with an output of 20 watts achieves a feed rate of 0 to 150 cm/min. The speed is freely adjustable and digitally controlled. In addition, Messer Cutting Systems offers an optional 42 V version for special requirements, for example in shipyards. The power connector is available for different country groups.

For oxyfuel cutting with the Secator 2, the user has various choices in terms of torch and nozzle types: The Secator 2 is available with one or two cutting torches for ring-slot nozzles (MS 832), cylindrical nozzles (MS 932) or gas-mixing nozzles (MSID 110-A/PMY) with acetylene or propane/methane (natural gas) as fuel gas.

For external mixing nozzles (MSAP), the unit is available with a cutting torch for propane. Thus, a cutting thickness of 3 to 300 mm or up to 600 mm when using an MSAP torch and a strip cutting width of 80 to 300 mm can be realized. The Secator 2 achieves high cut quality according to EN 1090-2 / ISO 9013 with one or two torches.
With an adapter and the matching cutting torch, the Secator 2 becomes fit for plasma cutting: Here, a combination with the Plasma Cutter 70 CT and Plasma Cutter 125 from Messer Cutting Systems is possible – depending on which requirements the cutting machine is to meet. With the plasma cutter, the Secator 2 achieves a clean cut in ferrous materials up to 25 mm material thickness, and in aluminum and stainless steel up to 18 mm. Cut-off cutting is possible in all materials up to 25 mm.
The third option for precise joining of parts is provided by the MIG/MAG welding torch for the Secator 2.

To ensure that the cut or weld is not blurred, a running rail with a length of 1,800 mm, a toothed rack with 700 mm and a compass bar device for circular cuts from 240 to 1,000 mm diameter are available for the Secator 2.
