At Blechexpo, Trumpf is presenting a new fully automatic swivel bending machine that processes complex components particularly quickly and efficiently.

The new TruBend Center 7020 succeeds in bending components with a leg height of up to 350 millimeters. The system also processes material thicknesses of up to 4 millimeters over the entire bending length. “This performance in terms of box height and material thickness is so far unique on the market for swivel bending machines. As a solution provider for the sheet metal process chain, Trumpf gives users of the new machine a competitive advantage, as they can use the benefits of swing bending, such as producing complex geometries, saving time and achieving high quality, for even more components,” says Product Manager Florian Jud from Trumpf. Compared to a manual press brake, the new TruBend 7020 is also up to 80 percent faster, depending on the component and bends.

The swivel bending technology is particularly suitable for complex parts with radius bends, short legs and narrow profiles. Such components can be produced more efficiently and with a higher quality than with classic die bending.

Faster bending thanks to new rotation manipulator

The TruBend Center 7020 owes its short cycle time to a new rotation manipulator. This can move the component even closer to the bending line. In many cases, this eliminates the need for regripping during the process and reduces the cycle time.
In addition, the developers have attached great importance to an open machine concept. The production worker can load and unload the machine from the side without having to lean into the interior. This is more ergonomic and saves time.

As with its predecessor machine, the TruBend Center 7020 uses the ToolMaster to automatically adjust the hold-downs that hold the part in place during the bending process for the specific workpiece. This reduces the set-up time. Programming is also quick and easy. With the help of the TecZone Fold software, the bending program can be created on the computer with just a few clicks.

With its external dimensions of less than six by six metres, the system fits easily into almost any workshop. Users can process components with a length of up to two meters. The TruBend Center 7020 can be used to produce large control cabinets for machines or for the construction industry. It also manufactures tool cabinets, cabins, battery trays and machine enclosures with ease.

With its high flexibility in terms of material thickness and component height, as well as its simple programming and short set-up time, the system is particularly suitable for job shoppers and other companies in the sheet metal manufacturing industry that want to produce a wide variety of components in small and large batch sizes.
