Tight cycle times, maximum efficiency: where forming presses and punches are at work, the entire process chain is trimmed for maximum output. But with decreasing batch sizes, the number of interruptions due to tool changes is increasing. Roemheld will be showing how to handle these efficiently at Euroblech from October 25 to 28 in Hall 27 at Stand K65.

Consistently high productivity is made possible by individual complete systems for efficient mold changing. A new feature is a pull-push system that moves dies up to 50 t in and out of the press via a chain drive. It is bolted directly to the press table, over which the chain transports the die at 33 mm/s. Faster versions with a maximum of 200 mm/s are also available. As a rule, it is not necessary to have your own guide. The system is supplied as standard without a control system, which is available as an option.

Push chain stored in robust chain box

There are different designs for different spatial situations on the press. If the press table is high enough, the chain is stored in the accumulator hanging down. Since in this case the chain box is open at the bottom, it is also insensitive to contamination. If, on the other hand, the table height of the press is too low to accommodate the chain, a magazine accumulator is available in which the chain is stored in a spiral.

The system offers additional flexibility as it can be mounted either in front of or behind the press table and can also be mounted on mobile consoles.

Complete solutions for setup on presses and punches

The new pull-push system fits seamlessly into a comprehensive range of complete solutions for die changing on punching and forming lines. Its large product range allows Roemheld to offer a complete solution for almost any situation.

It starts with the racking systems: With different types, they can be adapted precisely to the respective requirements of the production facility. Ball or roller rails in the floors and in the changing carriages, and later in the transport consoles, ensure a consistently safe, fast and efficient mold change.

Tool change safely and efficiently

The change carts transport the dies between the storage area and the press. There, employees can easily bring them into the machine with the help of consoles. Thanks to a uniform docking system for all racks, change carts and consoles, molds cannot be moved until all components are securely coupled together. This significantly increases safety for employees during handling.

Magnetic clamping technology offers numerous advantages

Solutions for positioning, centering and clamping the tools round off the Roemheld overall concept. The clamping systems are available in mechanical, hydraulic, magnetic and electromechanical versions.

The mold changing process becomes particularly efficient when magnetic clamping technology is used. In this case, clamping takes only a few seconds: Just press a button on the control and the tool is clamped with the help of an electric pulse. Operators no longer need to intervene manually. Magnetic chucks are suitable for all ferromagnetic tools, regardless of geometry, size and dimension. Standardization is not necessary.
