With the opening of the new Smart Factory, Accurl is setting an example for the future of intelligent manufacturing, according to Microstept. The investment of around 38 million euros creates a production environment that combines digital manufacturing, intelligent technology and green energy.
The mechanical engineering company Accurl has opened a smart factory at its headquarters in Ma’anshan, eastern China. As part of the grand opening, it presented its partner Microstep Europe with the “Global Brand Builder Award” for its brand work.

Production area of more than 65,000 m²
The new factory covers a production area of more than 65,000 m² and is designed to manufacture around 1,000 production systems per year, including laser cutting systems and CNC press brakes. Thanks to energy-saving and low-emission processes, the smart factory will save significant amounts of CO₂ and other emissions every year, according to the press release, which does not provide any figures.
Cameron Lee, CEO of Accurl, emphasized the significance of the day at the opening ceremony: “This smart factory is more than a building – it’s a statement: Accurl is ready to shape the future of global manufacturing. Intelligence, precision and sustainability will define the next chapter of our industry.”
Entering a new era of intelligent manufacturing
“This Smart Factory marks the beginning of a new era for sheet metal processing. Accurl is creating optimal conditions for innovation, from which our customers in the D-A-CH region will also benefit,” says Microstep Europe Managing Director Johannes Ried, who attended the Grand Opening together with his Managing Director colleague Igor Mikulina.
A special highlight: as part of the celebrations, Microstep Europe was presented with the “Global Brand Builder Award” – in recognition of its support in launching the Accurl brand in Europe and the joint work on market presence.
