The Swiss Steel Group is taking the initiative and holding a high-profile hydrogen symposium at the Henrichshütte in Hattingen on September 14, 2022, which is also open to external guests.

“Hydrogen: from buzzword to reality” is how Robert Baron, Director Strategy at the Swiss Steel Group, formulates the title of his presentation somewhat provocatively.

Till Mansmann MdB, Innovation Officer “Green Hydrogen” of the Federal Ministry of Research and Education, will give an up-to-date overview of the state of research and development in the field of hydrogen economy. Dr. Julian Röder, group leader at the Chair of Energy Systems and Energy Economics, classifies the challenges and conflicting goals when classifying hydrogen in the future energy system and points out possible solutions.

Things get very concrete in the contribution by Dr. Klaas Kunze from BMW AG, where he is head of development for hydrogen storage systems. He will provide insights into the current status of hydrogen fuel cell drives in passenger car applications and the use of steel materials in high-pressure storage systems.

And so the exciting contributions around the topic of hydrogen on 14.09.2022 are lined up in the four different sessions around the topics:
1. strategy hydrogen supply
2. hydrogen resistant steels
3. industrial use of hydrogen
4. supply and use of hydrogen

Undoubtedly a much needed symposium for the steel industry, which is now being implemented with a great deal of expertise by the industry leader of European electric steel producers, the Swiss Steel Group. The full program can be viewed at: swisssteel-group.com/products/hydrogen-symposium. The symposium is offered as a hybrid event and there are still a few seats available.
