On November 16, 2023, the annual Hüttentag took place in the glass foyer of Messe Essen’s Congress Center East. Under the motto “Gray, green, blue, turquoise steel – determining the location in the climate change”, the organizers DVS Media in cooperation with Messe Essen cordially invite you to the industry get-together. The program is based on current topics covered in the trade journals “Stahl+Technik” and “Steel+Technology” published by DVS Media GmbH. These include decarbonized process chains, digitized steel mills and scrap processing options.
The one-day Steelworks Day covers the entire spectrum of the steel industry: From plant manufacturers and steel producers to steel traders, all the major players will have their say. 27 specialist presentations provide exciting insights into the concentrated steel expertise and metallurgical know-how. Participants and exhibitors from over 80 different companies have already answered the call and are looking forward to a lively exchange.
The day will be opened by Dr. Martin Theuringer, Managing Director of Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl. It addresses industry requirements for successful transformations. This will be followed by Stefan Rauber, Chairman of the Board of Dillinger and Saarstahl and Chairman of the Management Board of SHS – Stahl-Holding-Saar, who will talk about Europe’s technological lead in green steel. The morning will be rounded off by Felix Schmitz, CEO of Kloeckner Metals Germany GmbH and Head of Investor Relations and Strategic Sustainability at Klöckner & Co. In his presentation, he addresses green steel from the customer’s perspective.
Another highlight of the hut day is the hut evening. This will be introduced with a greeting from Thomas Kufen, Lord Mayor of the City of Essen, who has assumed patronage of the entire event. In a relaxed atmosphere and with culinary delicacies, the hut evening offers the opportunity for personal discussions and making new contacts.
