Slag removal, edge rounding as well as grinding and deburring: MicroStep presents the MSE Oxy, a compact system with many processing options. Surface treatment of steel, stainless steel or aluminum, for example, is simple and fast. This means more productivity instead of manual and time-consuming rework.
An enormous amount has happened in the cutting industry in recent years. Whether plasma, oxyfuel, laser or waterjet cutting, the systems have become increasingly precise, stable and safer to handle since the first walking tests. MicroStep offers small and large solutions in 2D and 3D for a wide range of customers in all four cutting processes.
Many specially developed systems ensure that the results are process-reliable and of high quality. Despite all automated processes: Depending on the requirements, rework is not always avoidable. And this is where a new addition to the MicroStep Europe portfolio comes into play: the MSE Oxy. “With the versatile MSE Oxy machine, we now offer our customers and interested parties a compact solution that facilitates post-processing and provides a variety of machining options on one system,” emphasizes Johannes Ried, Managing Director of MicroStep Europa GmbH.
Diverse surface processing in a compact space
The MSE Oxy is equipped with high-quality brand-name components throughout, thus achieving high reliability and process safety. With the help of five tools moving in the carousel principle, the flat and pre-cut materials are processed easily, quickly and efficiently in a small space. “Every metalworking company is familiar with the often tedious reworking with angle grinders, hammers and other makeshift tools. However, mechanical systems available on the market often require more space than is available and exceed the technological requirements as well as the budget. The MSE Oxy is perfectly positioned for this: It finds a place in almost any workshop and is the optimal solution for anyone who needs to rework different workpieces in small batch sizes,” says Johannes Ried. Depending on the task at hand, tools are available that are precisely tailored to the task at hand:
Slag removal: During the cutting process, material buildup, known as slag, often occurs on the cut edges of the workpiece. This must be removed for optimum further processing of the component. Machine processing with the MSE Oxy saves time-consuming manual removal.
Grinding and deburring: Especially with sheet metal parts cut to size with laser or plasma technology, burr formation cannot always be avoided. During the grinding process with the MSE Oxy, burrs and other irregularities are removed to obtain a clean grinding pattern.
Edge rounding: Edge rounding of the component with the MSE Oxy creates the conditions for subsequent process steps. It also minimizes the risk of injury from sharp edges.
The right tool for every application
A wide range of tools enables companies to achieve targeted part processing and, ultimately, the best possible results for every application – whether for slag removal, grinding or edge rounding. A fast and uncomplicated tool change ensures short changeover times between machining operations. Optional extensions such as the installation of a magnetic field plate, the extension of the worktable and the integration of a filter system complete the range.
Background
MicroStep is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of CNC cutting systems. The company develops and produces plasma, oxyfuel, laser and waterjet cutting systems – from small CNC machines for schools and workshops to customised production lines for shipyards, steel centres or the automotive and aerospace industries. In addition, MicroStep offers automation solutions from material handling around the cutting system to picking and sorting of cut parts.
The internationally active MicroStep Group was founded in the early 1990s in the Slovakian capital of Bratislava. It includes MicroStep Europa GmbH, which offers consulting, planning, financing, training and support for all MicroStep products, especially for customers from German-speaking countries. In addition, MicroStep Europa GmbH also develops and sells independent products & services for cutting and bending workpieces worldwide.
MicroStep Europe operates the CompetenceCenter South at its headquarters in Bad Wörishofen, Bavaria, and the CompetenceCenter North at its branch in Dorsten, North Rhine-Westphalia. State-of-the-art cutting solutions are always available in the two training and demonstration centres.
In addition, MicroStep is still represented in Germany with two bases in Kiel (Schleswig-Holstein) and Berlin. For Austria, MicroStep maintains a base near Vienna (in Bratislava, Slovakia) and in Switzerland near Bern (at MicroStep partner LWB WeldTech AG in Wünnewil).
