MJ Gerüst GmbH is one of the leading manufacturers of scaffolding in Germany. The company, based in Plettenberg, North Rhine-Westphalia, has now placed an order with Schuler for the third identical servo press. It is a 4,000 kilonewton machine with a table size of 3,050 by 1,400 millimeters that forms perforated scaffold decks and other parts from sheet metal for scaffolding.

Schuler will supply the servo press, which is scheduled to go into operation at the end of the year, including the complete automation system from a single source. “MJ Gerüst would also like to rely on the proven Schuler servo technology for this special forming requirement,” explains Area Sales Manager Olaf Klein. The machine will be at the beginning of a production line about 50 meters long, which will also include a profiling and a welding line.

“This enables us to further optimize the manufacturing process by eliminating the need to transport parts between production lines and making even better use of the high output of the servo press,” adds Alexander Böhne, Technical Manager Toolmaking/Stamping Shop at MJ Gerüst. “We’ve also fitted all three machines with a soundproof booth and spared no expense or effort in doing so.”

The company started in 1970 as a supplier of scaffolding components for other manufacturers and produced its first own system from 1985. Due to the constant expansion of production and storage capacities, the premises of MJ Gerüst GmbH now cover more than 30 hectares. In 2019, a second production site was established in Plettenberg, Sauerland.
