V. The program for the world’s leading trade fair for joining, cutting and coating is becoming more concrete. Numerous events at Schweissen & Schneiden 2023 will offer guests at Messe Essen real added value for their own business. Project manager Christina Kleinpaß reveals, “We are focusing in particular on the topic of digitization from September 11 to 15. We are very pleased to be cooperating with the DVS for the first time with the Industry Fusion Foundation.”

The focus of the foundation is the development of a multi-vendor open source networking solution for the manufacturing industry. The IFF, DVS and Messe Essen are organizing a digital rally at Schweissen & Schneiden in which guests will learn more about specific use cases and their benefits in an entertaining way.

Know-how and the transfer of knowledge are also the focus of the DVS Congress, which will take place during the world’s leading trade fair in the nearby Congress Center West of Messe Essen. Here, participants can find out about the latest findings from current research projects and learn about operational practice in lectures.

Another highlight of the trade fair participation of DVS – Deutscher Verband für Schweißen und verwandte Verfahren e. V. (German Welding Society) is the final of the national competition “Jugend schweißt” (Young Welders). Germany’s top young welders between the ages of 16 and 23 will show their skills here.

Informative themed areas: Underwater technology and nation stands

In addition, several themed areas await the guests. The area of underwater technology is becoming increasingly important – there is a dedicated information area for this in Hall 7. The focal point is a diving container in which skilled welders demonstrate this demanding welding technique as well as the matching equipment.

If you want to find out about a country’s products and services, the international joint stands are an ideal place to start. There, companies present their products and services together with other exhibitors from their country. This year there will be such nation stands from China, France, Japan, Korea, Taiwan as well as the USA.

The German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology is sponsoring another joint Schweissen & Schneiden booth: It is giving start-ups the opportunity to present themselves at the trade show at low cost through the “Young Innovative Companies” program.
Guests interested in new ideas should already make a note of Hall 3. There, the young companies will showcase their forward-looking solutions.
