While energy efficiency is still being talked about in many places, Profilmetall in Hirrlingen is already putting it into practice. The specialist for roll-formed metal profiles, which has been rooted in the region for five decades, received Economics Minister Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut on Monday. She was informed about the measures with which the company intends to further strengthen its future viability with the help of the “Spitze auf dem Land” funding program.

Profilmetall is planning to commission new, highly efficient roll forming systems from Xellar Technologies with the support of state funding. The modular design of the systems should not only increase the energy efficiency of production, but also anchor the principle of the circular economy more firmly in the production process.

Profilmetall is a piece of home

“Profilmetall is an exemplary company for the structure of our state,” emphasized Minister Hoffmeister-Kraut in her welcoming address. “Baden-Württemberg is a state of small and medium-sized enterprises. Innovation must be encouraged, especially here. Companies that are committed deserve our support.”
At the same time, she praised the above-average training rate of over ten percent as a strong signal for securing skilled workers in the region.
Hirrlingen’s mayor Simon König also emphasized the importance of the company. “Profilmetall is more than just an employer. It is a piece of home,” he said. “The commitment of companies like Profilmetall makes our community worth living and loving. That’s why I appeal to the Minister: support companies like this. They are the backbone of our society.”

Transparency in funding

For the management, the exchange with politicians is an important signal. “We are delighted when politicians take an interest and see for themselves which innovative companies are active in the region. Transparency is particularly important to us when it comes to funding. Ultimately, everyone involved benefits from the planned measures,” emphasized Dr. Daniela Eberspächer-Roth, Managing Director of Profilmetall.
Manfred Roth, partner at Profilmetall, added: “Political decisions have a direct impact on our work, for example in terms of energy costs. It is therefore all the more gratifying when innovations are also recognized and supported by the state.”
Looking back on 50 years of company history, Profilmetall shows how much future there is in SMEs – especially when innovation and support work together.
