In order to secure the future of the stainless steel specialist, the previous owners are transferring the majority of Vogel-Bauer to MKM Holding. Even in the new constellation, the company intends to remain a reliable partner for customers and suppliers.
MKM Holding GmbH, Hagen, has acquired a majority stake in the Vogel-Bauer Group. The previous owner families Vogel and Mathiasen will retain a substantial stake in the company, according to the stainless steel specialist.
“We are convinced that by joining forces in this way, we have set the best possible course for our company, which has been owned by the Vogel and Mathiasen families for over 80 years,” says Gerald Vogel, shareholder and Managing Director of Vogel-Bauer, about the decision taken jointly by the entrepreneurial family. Not only the safeguarding of around 70 jobs at the Solingen site, but also the further development of Vogel-Bauer together with an equally well-established family-owned company give us confidence for the future. “We will continue to be a reliable partner for our customers and suppliers in this new set-up,” he continued.

Stainless steel remains in focus
Vogel-Bauer Edelstahl, based in Solingen, has been trading in and processing stainless steel products since 1945. MK Metallfolien GmbH, another subsidiary of MKM Holding GmbH, is a manufacturer of precision and super foils made of stainless steel and special materials. In addition to the production facilities in Germany (Hagen and Schwerte), MK Metallfolien also manufactures in the USA (Duncan, South Carolina) and operates a service center in China (Wujiang, near Shanghai). The export share is over 50%.
“With this partnership, we are positioning ourselves for the future in a challenging market. Our customers and suppliers will retain their familiar contacts. The move has no impact on existing contracts or current projects. Our values – independence, service, reliability and quality – remain the foundation of our cooperation and our actions,” concludes Vormann.
