The automation company Pilz is focusing on its safety & security solutions for intralogistics at the international trade fair Logimat (19.03. – 21.03.2024). The comprehensive service portfolio of the expert for safe automation is also included in the trade fair luggage for Stuttgart.

Various logistics applications such as the protection of automated guided vehicles, conveyor belts and warehouse applications can be implemented efficiently with the Pilz solution package.
Visitors to the joint stand with cooperation partner NAiSE GmbH can also find out how various freely navigating road users can be efficiently coordinated and managed.

Basis: Know-how for safe operation

Operators of mobile platforms must ensure that their application complies with the performance levels required by the ISO 3691-4 standard for vehicle monitoring functions. The safety experts from Pilz will be on the stand to provide information on how these requirements for the safe operation of mobile platforms can be implemented. The focus: avoiding downtimes and operating production safely and efficiently. Visitors can find out more about the appropriate Pilz services (on “Design risk assessment” and “Factory acceptance at the manufacturer” and “On-site acceptance”) and about the “Safe use of driverless transport vehicles and systems” training course, which is specifically geared towards the safety of mobile platforms.

Highlight: Security for freely navigating platforms

A highlight on the stand is Pilz’s security solution for freely navigating mobile platforms. The core of the solution is the safe small controller PNOZmulti 2 with functions for synchronization monitoring and control of the safety laser scanners PSENscan. The safety laser scanners ensure productive area monitoring in the safety solution. In addition, there is the Industrial Firewall SecurityBridge, which offers protection against unauthorized access from outside.
Pilz will also be demonstrating how secure access in logistics areas can be controlled via its modular safety gate system and the Identification and Access Management System I.A.M – whether simple authentication or complex access management.

Fleet under control

For the management of the entire fleet, the Stuttgart-based expert for material flow automation NAiSE, in cooperation with Pilz, presents the world’s first traffic and order manager for all intralogistics participants. The NAiSE fleet manager analyzes the flow of traffic and goods in intralogistics applications in real time. Visitors can experience NAiSE Traffic in action at the joint stand.
