Lamiera presents: The Bright Side of Metalforming

From Tuesday, May 6 to Friday, May 9, 2025, the Fieramilano Rho Exhibition Center will host the 23rd edition of Lamiera, the international trade fair for the sheet metal cutting, processing and forming machine tool industry and related innovative technologies.

Over the years, the exhibition has become one of the most important meeting points at international level, focusing on cutting and forming machine tools, a sector in which Italy ranks second in the world in terms of production and exports and third in terms of demand. Promoted by Ucimu – Sistemi per Produrre (Association of Italian Manufacturers of Machine Tools, Robots and Automation Systems) and organized by CEU-Centro Esposizioni Ucimu, Lamiera is the only trade fair event in Italy dedicated exclusively to the forming industry. An event that more and more Italian and foreign companies are choosing to present projects and innovative solutions in advance. Machines, systems, equipment for processing and cutting sheet metal, tubes, sections, wire and metal construction, presses, tool and die making, welding machines, surface technology and finishing machines, parts, components, accessories, tools, fastening systems, subcontracting for the technical and industrial sector are the focus of the exhibition, which presents the best of the latest technologies, i.e. “The Bright Side of Metal Forming” in line with the slogan of this edition. This event will focus on a number of technological topics with a focus on machines. The six themed areas of the exhibition are:

Fabbrica Futura, software and technologies for connectivity and data management, analysis and security, for automation systems, digital systems and robotic systems for sheet metal processing;

Saldatech with a wide range of the extensive and diversified world of welding technology as one of the most important technologies for joining sheet metal;

Fastener Industry stands for screws, bolts, tensioning and fastening elements;

The world of heat and surface treatments, which brings together machinery, equipment, accessories and consumables for pre- and post-production treatments of ferrous and non-ferrous materials, thus ensuring a complete overview of this constantly evolving segment;

Metrology & Testing, focuses on systems, testing, measuring machines and machines for quality control, which are crucial for industry production;

Sheet metal Italy Service, technical supply and services for the specialist industry.

In addition, a new area is planned for Lamiera from this year, Revamping & Retrofitting for machines and systems that have been adequately renewed and equipped with new functions and meet the requirements of a complementary market. Alfredo Mariotti, General Director of Ucimu, explained: “In the panorama of Italian trade fairs, Lamiera is the only event dedicated exclusively to machines for cutting, processing and forming sheet metal. The high quality of the products on display and the attention paid to new technologies – the protagonists of the sector – through the innovative exhibition themes, make the fair increasingly prominent year after year, becoming a distinctive point of reference at both national and international level.” “A strong offer, recognized by users and manufacturers worldwide, is an absolute highlight for international companies who, thanks to Lamiera, have the best opportunity to observe the biggest players in the sector up close. Data from the last editions of the event show that the presence of all Italian manufacturers – large, small and medium-sized for standard technologies as well as customized technologies – at the fair also strongly encourages the participation of foreign manufacturers. The latter come both from countries with a solid tradition in this sector and from countries that have only recently approached this sector – including non-EU countries – and whose presence at Lamiera is growing strongly from year to year.” “Registration has been open for a few days and our secretariat has already received numerous applications for participation. On the other hand,” added Alfredo Mariotti, “the development of international and national markets – foreseen for the entire three-year period from 2025 to 2027, as well as the availability of the Transition 5.0 and 4.0 promotions for the entire year 2025 – will certainly favor all operators who decide to exhibit at Lamiera, which is hosted in the country that is the third largest consumer market in the world and the first in Europe.” What gives the fair added value are the initiatives and side projects that make the visitor experience complete and interesting. Lamialamiera returns, an event area that offers a rich conference program with cultural and thematic immersions, as well as incoming foreign professionals and all initiatives related to education.
