With their 3-speed shifting, the brushless 18-volt units reach very high speeds – up to 4,000 revolutions per minute. The cordless metal screwdrivers are also equipped with a drill chuck that has a particularly high clamping force and automatic retightening function – so the clamped drill bit cannot slip through. Metabo has also developed a new quick-change system: With QuickPlus, the tool holder and insert tool can be exchanged particularly quickly and easily. In addition, the high power transmission allows users to always get the maximum performance from the machine.

Highest performance for metal applications

“Work applications in the metal trade place very high demands on the equipment,” knows Alexander Mnerinsky, Product Manager at Metabo. “And that’s exactly what we developed our 3-speed wrenches for. Our new machines are extremely powerful, making them the perfect machines for locksmiths and metalworkers.” The BS 18 LTX-3 Q I Metal, for example, can drill holes up to 20 millimeters in diameter in metal. This is possible thanks to its particularly high torque of up to 130 Newton meters and its new drill chuck. The user chooses between three gears, can set the appropriate speed as needed, and achieves the fastest work progress for any drill diameter.

Drill chuck with automatic reclamping function

Another special feature is the drill chuck built into the new cordless metal screwdriver range. It increases the clamping force proportionally to the cutting force by automatically re-tensioning to prevent the drill from slipping – even on the toughest jobs. “It is also impact drill resistant and has a concentricity of up to 0.35 millimeters. This allows professional users to work particularly precisely. The drill chuck therefore offers a number of convincing advantages, which is why we deliberately chose it,” explains Mnerinsky.

Fast, flexible and secure

Metabo has developed a new quick-change system to ensure that work proceeds quickly. This allows users to change the tool holder and insert tool very easily and quickly, and to always get the best performance. Excellent protection is provided by the integrated anti-kickback function: if the machine blocks, there is no kickback.

The new cordless drill/impact wrenches are produced in Nürtingen. They are part of Metabo’s 18-volt system and complement the cross-brand battery alliance CAS (Cordless Alliance System). Within CAS, more than 300 machines from more than 30 different manufacturers are currently compatible with a battery and can be combined in any way.
