Process efficiency is an important topic for LVD. Examples include the Phoenix FL 3015 fiber laser cutting system with 20-kW laser source, the Ulti-Form robotic bending cell, and the Cadman v8.7 software suite developed for the “Smart Factory.”

The powerful Phoenix FL 3015 with 20 kW offers high productivity and efficiently processes a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and sheet thicknesses up to 40 mm.

Laser cutting 2.5 times faster than the 10 kW system

The machine cuts 2.5 times faster than the 10 kW fiber laser and cuts faster. It processes thick materials much faster than most plasma cutting systems, with straighter kerfs and the ability to cut holes in half sheet thickness. All with the processing efficiency and accuracy of fiber laser cutting.

Acceleration and accuracy are supported by the rigid welded steel frame. The integration of control and drive ensures exact reproduction of the programmed contours at high machining speeds.

The 19″ Touch-L control is user-friendly: operators of all experience levels can easily interact with the Phoenix.
Phoenix FL offers performance enhancement options including a 17-station automatic nozzle changer, Cadman-L programming software, and modular Movit automation from compact towers to complete tower and storage systems (TAS and WAS). The 20-kW fiber laser source is available for Phoenix FL-3015, 4020 and 6020 models.

Bending cell does not require robot teaching

The new Ulti-Form robotic bending cell keeps bending productivity at a high level and efficiently processes both small and large batches. Ulti-Form offers a fast “Art to Part” process thanks to LVD’s powerful software, no “teaching” of the robot is required.
Cadman-B automatically determines the optimum bending program and imports all bending data into the software module of the Cadman-SIM robot. SIM automatically calculates gripper positions and the fastest collision-free robot path, then feeds the information back to B so the operator only has to work with one program.

The automatically adjustable gripper supports a range of part geometries and automatically adjusts to the part size. The intelligent design saves investment in different grippers and gripper change time.

Ulti-Form has a 135-ton press brake with automated die change and integrated die storage, as well as an industrial robot. The bending cell processes parts from 50 x 100 mm to 1200 x 800 mm with a weight of up to 25 kg. Equipped with LVD’s Easy-Form Laser adaptive bending system, Ulti-Form provides automation with a quality guarantee and ensures precise bending results throughout.

Software improves the process flow

The revised Cadman v8.7 software offers several key features as well as updates to Cadman-Job (manufacturing and execution system), Cadman-SDI (intelligent drawing import), Cadman-P (punching) and Cadman-L (laser cutting).

Cadman v8.7 is able to integrate third-party operations such as threading, deburring and grinding, allowing Cadman to control, monitor and log a job from raw material to finished part. Third-party operations are now visible in the Cadman job overview screen and can be tracked in real time in the production process.

The latest Cadman software can now manage the entire sheet metal fabrication process without requiring an ERP system. Work orders can be created in Cadman-SDI for transfer to Cadman-Job. This feature makes Cadman a practical solution for sheet metal processing companies of any size, including companies without an ERP system.

Improvements include, among other new updates, the ability to use Cadman-Job to create an execution plan and add unscheduled operations during production, the import of files using “drag and drop”, and the ability to “stretch” nesting in Cadman-P and Cadman-L.
