Benteler strengthens its sites in Paderborn with further investments. The focus is on a major project of the Benteler Steel/Tube Division: Around 17 million euros are being invested in the expansion of tube production at the Schloß Neuhaus plant.
“With this investment, we are expanding our capacities for seamless and cold-drawn tubes – especially for applications in the automotive industry. The expansion will increase production capacity at the site by around 15%,” says Thomas Michels, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Benteler Steel/Tube.
The investment comprises a completely new production line for drawn tubes. Among other things, the company is investing in a drawing preparation system, a drawing bench, the expansion of heat treatment capacities and a combined straightening, testing and sawing system. The line is supplemented by systems for quality control, preservation and packaging. The first system – the new drawing bench – will go into operation at the end of May. In addition, the capacity for sawing short pipe sections will be expanded. A total of 30 new jobs are to be created.
In addition, over 15 million euros will be invested in the Benteler Automotive Components and Benteler Automotive Modules divisions in 2026. The Group is also investing 6.5 million euros in central digitalization and IT projects at the Paderborn sites.
