AK Nova Automotive’s new production facility in Tangier is being equipped with a Triton series transfer press from Andritz Schuler. The machine is equipped with the camera-based Visual Die Protection (VDP) system and is the first transfer press of its kind on the African continent.
The automotive supplier AK-Pres has been using presses from Andritz Schuler for several years. The company supplies sheet metal and welded components to international automakers.
Andritz Schuler is supplying a TML4-1600 press for the new facility in Tangier. It delivers a pressing force of 1,600 metric tons and up to 30 strokes per minute. The table dimensions are 6,100 × 2,500 mm. The system is also equipped with a Link-Drive drive, which enables customized motion characteristics of the press ram.
In addition to the transfer press, Andritz Schuler is supplying four mechanical presses with pressing forces of 400, 630, and 800 metric tons to the site in Morocco. Furthermore, a plant in Turkey will receive a TSD4-2000 servo press.
