Increasing cost pressure, complex components and a shortage of skilled workers pose major challenges for many pipe manufacturers. The solution is to increase productivity and process reliability. TRUMPF shows how with the new TruLaser Tube 7000.
The demands placed on tube processing continue to grow. Components are becoming more complex, the range of variants and material requirements is increasing, while economic pressure and labor shortages pose challenges for many companies. As a result, businesses are increasingly asking how they can boost productivity while making their processes more efficient.
„Make a cut with every tube” is TRUMPF’s answer to these challenges. Tube processing is no longer just about cutting tubes. It is about cutting out everything in production that slows down productivity and profitability. From time-consuming programming and long setup times to high part costs. Modern laser tube cutting machines combine multiple process steps into a single operation, reduce manual intervention, and ensure reproducible results with consistently high quality.
At the Tube trade fair in Düsseldorf, TRUMPF is presenting the new TruLaser Tube 7000. As the flagship of the TRUMPF tube cutting portfolio, the machine represents a new dimension in laser tube processing: a wide processing range, high process speed, and universal application. Maximum productivity in the volume segment, minimal setup times, high flexibility, and seamless integration into the entire process chain make it the ideal solution for companies aiming to process tubes and profiles even more efficiently and flexibly.
Combining Productivity and Flexibility
With a laser power of 9 kW and up to 150% higher feed rates compared to the previous generation, the TruLaser Tube 7000 is designed for maximum throughput. The machine processes round tubes up to 273 mm in diameter and rectangular tubes up to 290 mm in diameter, as well as all common profile shapes. Covering a broad range of applications. The high laser power also expands the range of workable wall thicknesses. At the same time, high dynamics, fast feed rates, and optimized process sequences enable efficient component production.
Programming Tube provides an additional boost in productivity. The software transfers tube parts to the machine in seconds with full process reliability. With AutoCAD and AutoCAM, NC programs are generated automatically from CAD models, significantly simplifying the entire workflow. This reduces errors and lays the foundation for fully connected tube production.

— Processing range round tube: up to 273 mm diameter
— Outer circle: 290 mm
— Processing range square tube: up to 203 × 203 mm
— Laser power: 9 kW TruFiber (solid-state laser)
— Maximum loading and unloading length: up to 12.5 m
— Automation: automatic support rollers, self-centering chucks, automatic machine settings
Sensors Ensure Stable Processes
In industrial tube processing, productivity alone is not enough. Stable processes and consistently high component quality are crucial. In TruLaser Tube 7000, various assistance systems monitor cutting processes and optimize them automatically. Self-centering chucks enable concentric, material-friendly clamping with continuous sensor monitoring. The ScanLine function detects raw material tolerances and compensates for them during cutting. The additional Quality Pilot function evaluates material quality and adjusts measurement cycles accordingly. Other systems check, for example, whether contours have been fully cut or detect the position of pre-punched contours in the profile, adapting the cutting process and program as needed. This reduces rework, scrap, and manual inspection. Ensuring cost-effective production from batch size 1 to series production.
All Process Steps in One Operation
The TruLaser Tube 7000 integrates Drilling, cutouts and complex contours directly into the tube. With the technology package for tapping, TRUMPF integrates flow drilling, tapping, and twist drilling into the laser tube cutting process. This reduces or even eliminates downstream operations.
„The TruLaser Tube 7000 fits perfectly into our setup. It’s extremely fast, incredibly dynamic. Exactly suited to our range of parts. And the best thing is: whether it’s a standard tube or a complex profile, the machine just keeps running.“
Manuel Vorbrugg, Authorized Signatory / Head of Production, HEIZOMAT
Keeping the Entire Process Chain in View
Beyond the machine itself, the entire process chain is becoming increasingly important. Modern tube processing includes not only cutting, but also material handling, automation, and downstream processing. TRUMPF therefore takes a systemic approach: automated long-span goods storage systems, LoadMaster Tube for automated loading, software solutions for production control, as well as automation and partner solutions for unloading, sorting, or bending can all be combined into an end-to-end process chain. The result is a tube production environment where material flow, machines, and software are closely interconnected. Cut off everything that hinders productive tube processing.
