The year 2025 will see a change in the Management Board. Martin Holder is retiring after 51 years at Wafios. The new Executive Board team is made up of Dr.-Ing. Uwe-Peter Weigmann, Spokesman of the Executive Board, and the new Executive Board members Dipl.-Ing. Jörg Eisele and Dipl.-Ing. Martin Mayer.

Jörg Eisele joined the company back in 2004. After successfully completing a degree in mechanical engineering, Eisele began his career at Wafios as an assistant to the design manager with a focus on developing innovation management. In 2009, he completed his part-time MBA degree at the Technical University of Munich.

At Wafios, he subsequently headed the Tool Center and later the technical development of various machine areas. Since 2017, he has been responsible for the entire Wire and Tube division, including the technical development, sales and commissioning of various machines, including spring coiling, wire bending, tube bending, straightening, chain and e-mobility machines. From 2021, he also took over responsibility for overall sales at Wafios.

Jörg Eisele: “I have known the company, its employees and its strengths for many years. During this time, I have been able to actively promote the expansion of various business areas. In addition to the further development of the classic Wafios machine areas, the development of the new business areas of e-mobility and digital services was a highlight for me. Always with a focus on developing new products and technologies with added value for our customers.”

Martin Mayer joined Wafios AG in February 2023 and is responsible for the Tool Center and mechanical production. After successfully studying mechanical engineering with a focus on design and development at Esslingen University of Applied Sciences, he joined Nagel Maschinen- und Werkzeugfabrik GmbH in Nürtingen as a development engineer in 2007. After 15 years, Mayer left the company as Technical Director.

From 2021 to 2023, he worked as the founder and partner of a personnel consultancy before returning to machine construction. “Wafios is characterized as an innovative technology company in the wire and tube bending machine industry. In order to bring newly developed machine concepts to the market in the shortest possible time and to ensure economical tool solutions for our customers, we will rely on flexible and high-performance production in the future,” says Martin Mayer.

Dr.-Ing. Uwe-Peter Weigmann studied forming technology at the Technical University of Berlin. During his doctorate, he worked as a senior engineer in the Production Technology and Machine Tools department under Prof. Dr. Günter Spur and completed his doctorate in the same field. He has been a member of the Executive Board in the Technology division since 2008 and was appointed Spokesman of the Executive Board in 2012, when his responsibilities were expanded to include Human Resources. In 2017, Weigmann took over the Sales and Finance division.

Shorter response times with specialized business units

The allocation of responsibilities of the Management Board was decided by the Supervisory Board and is divided as follows: Dr.-Ing. Uwe-Peter Weigmann continues to act as Spokesman of the Management Board and is responsible for Development, IT, Finance, Human Resources and the Automation division.

Martin Mayer takes over the areas of mechanical production, assembly, logistics, quality management and purchasing, while Jörg Eisele is in charge of sales, marketing, service and legal affairs.

Uwe-Peter Weigmann and Jörg Eisele are jointly responsible for the new business divisions Springs, Tube, Wire, E-Mobility and Digital Services. The divisions combine customer-oriented functions such as sales, machine and tool design as well as commissioning for the corresponding products. “The new structure with the aforementioned divisions offers more focus in order to be able to react quickly to customer-specific requirements,” says Weigmann.

51 years with Wafios

The time at Wafios comes to an end with an anniversary. After more than 51 years, CEO Martin Holder begins his retirement. Even after his retirement, he will remain with Wafios AG as a consultant.

He joined the company back in 1973 as a mechanical apprentice. He worked in mechanical production for two years and then started in IT. His studies in business administration and business informatics as well as the teamwork in the Group had a long-term impact on him and also influenced his way of working in the company. In 2009, Martin Holder took over the position of CEO, which he still holds today.

“His actions have shaped the company in the long term. His tireless commitment has been a driving force in the company. He led Wafios into digitalization at an early stage, making Wafios one of the first SAP customers and is still committed to a modern and digital working environment today. Now his well-deserved retirement awaits. On behalf of Wafios AG, I would like to thank my colleague for his many years of service,” says Dr. Uwe-Peter Weigmann. “With Martin Mayer and Jörg Eisele, two experienced colleagues are taking over the position.”
