These custom-built applications often increase design complexity, lead times, and costs. The standard parts manufacturer Meusburger therefore offers a range of standardized active elements that enable users to design a consistent and efficient process.
Standardized components allow strips to be guided and positioned without the need for custom adjustments. According to the company, this simplifies both the design and maintenance and replacement work during operation. The product line includes active elements for various requirements in punching technology. The components can be integrated into existing designs and are available on short notice.
New guide bushing with external thread
New to the product range is the guide bushing with external thread and flange, E 5708. It allows for the assembly and disassembly of round, flanged active elements from the machining plane. The screw connection is made via an external hexagon and requires minimal installation space. The fine thread is matched to the installation diameters of the springs and is designed to simplify the machining of the tool plates. Due to its precise diameter and flange seating, the guide bushing is also suitable for applications with high positioning accuracy requirements, for example, in conjunction with locator pins.
The product line also includes an adjustable strip feeder that can accommodate different sheet widths without requiring design modifications. Guidance is provided by continuously adjustable needle bearings. In the E 5620 model, a single-sided spring-loaded bearing automatically compensates for width tolerances. The spring force can be adjusted to accommodate different materials and material thicknesses. According to the manufacturer, a single strip feeder can be used with multiple tools, thereby reducing the need for additional components.
Strip Stop Simplifies Set-Up
With the E 5625 strip stop, Meusburger offers another component for positioning new sheet metal strips during insertion and punching. The spring-loaded release mechanism ensures that the stop automatically resets after the first stroke. This is intended to simplify setup procedures and reduce setup times. For this development, the company received the silver “best Award” at last year’s Blechexpo trade show.
Standardized components can reduce the effort required for design, manufacturing, and warehousing. CAD data is available for the components, which users can incorporate into their tool designs. Since the components are designed to work together and are available on short notice, projects can be implemented with less planning effort, according to the manufacturer.
