Both companies signed a corresponding letter of intent.<\/h3>\n<p>Bluemint Steel already has significantly reduced CO2 intensity. In the production of the certified climate-friendly steel grades, pre-produced sponge iron or specially processed steel scrap replaces coking coal in the blast furnace process on a pro rata basis. In addition, the cooperation between thyssenkrupp Steel and Benteler is to be further intensified from 2026: Then the steel is to come from direct reduction plants in combination with melting units which will be operated with green hydrogen and green electricity in the future.<\/p>\n<h4>&#8220;Green&#8221; products of the highest quality for customers<\/h4>\n<p>&#8220;Climate protection is a strategic priority for Benteler, and we have set ourselves ambitious goals in this area. By 2030, the company will have already halved its production-related CO2 emissions and reduced the so-called Scope 3 emissions of purchased goods by 30 percent. The Steel\/Tube Division aims to achieve CO2 neutrality by 2045 through increased energy efficiency, green electricity and climate-neutral starting material.<br \/>\nIn addition, Benteler Steel\/Tube itself produces &#8220;green steel&#8221; for customers in an electric arc furnace at the steel plant in Lingen.
