and &#8220;Digitalization in welding technology&#8221;, for example, are the central topics on the agenda of the symposium with accompanying exhibition, which is held every year in September by DVS &#8211; Deutscher Verband f\u00fcr Schwei\u00dfen und verwandte Verfahren e. V. (German Welding Society) at changing venues.<\/h3>\n<p>In addition, the DVS Congress offers solutions for many, different joining processes, for example for metal inert gas and tungsten inert gas welding, resistance welding, laser beam welding, adhesive bonding technology and for additive manufacturing processes using electric arc or laser and electron beam.<\/p>\n<p>Further topics such as &#8220;Occupational Safety&#8221;, &#8220;Quality Assurance&#8221;, &#8220;Underwater Technology&#8221; or &#8220;Strength and Dimensioning&#8221; as well as current results from the projects of the Research Association on Welding and Allied Processes e. V. of DVS, in short DVS Research, round off the program of the symposium. A separate event format within the conference, namely the DVS CAMPUS, offers students of joining technology a forum to present their knowledge and the latest findings of their diploma, master or bachelor theses to an expert audience.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, DVS will celebrate its 125th anniversary on the evening of the first day of the congress. In this context, DVS President Dipl.-Betriebsw. Susanne Szczesny-O\u00dfing invites to a RoundTable discussion and discusses with her guests about &#8220;125 years DVS &#8211; challenges and perspectives&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;At the DVS CONGRESS, the industry shows all its diversity. For this very reason, it is important to us to provide space for discussions and for dialog,&#8221; says Dipl.-Ing. Jens Jerzembeck, head of the &#8220;Research and Technology&#8221; department at DVS and, together with the Program Commission, responsible for the content of the DVS Congress. &#8220;For this reason, we as organizers have also integrated a panel discussion with audience participation and a keynote speech on the topic of &#8216;Digitalization in Welding Technology&#8217; into this year&#8217;s congress program,&#8221; Jerzembeck continues.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Dr.-Ing. Jean Pierre Bergmann, Professor Dr.-Ing. Heidi Cramer, Igor Mikulina, Dipl.-Ing. Jan Pitzer and Dr.-Ing. Marion Purrio will discuss the framework conditions that need to be created for welding companies to successfully enter the digitalization market and how they can benefit from it in the long term.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"padding-left: 80px;\">About the DVS<\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\">DVS &#8211; Deutscher Verband f\u00fcr Schwei\u00dfen und verwandte Verfahren e. V. (German Welding and Allied Processes Association) is a technical-scientific association with more than 120 years of experience that is comprehensively committed to the approximately 250 different processes of joining, cutting and coating. The heart of all DVS activities is the technical-scientific joint work. It stands for the continuing close linking of content and results from the fields of research, technology and education.<br \/>\nThe associated companies of DVS process the results from the association and present them to the outside world with their own focal points. The head office of the association, which is recognized as a non-profit organization, is in D\u00fcsseldorf.
