After an interruption of two years, visitors can find out what has happened in the field of die cutting in recent times at the &#8220;12th Congress on Die Cutting Technology&#8221; at 25th and April 26th at the Congress Center Westfalenhallen Dortmund.<\/h3>\n<p>The organizers are the Competence and Innovation Center for Stamping Technology Dortmund e. V. (KIST) and the Chair of Forming Technology and Foundry (utg) at the TU Munich. This year, due to the pandemic, they are expecting around 200 participants at the traditional meeting of the stamping technology industry, including numerous prominent representatives from research and industry. Other supporters of Europe&#8217;s leading industry event are Industrieverband Blechumformung e.V. (IBU), Hagen, and CertEuropa GmbH from Kassel.<\/p>\n<h4>Lecture program Innovations: New markets, new technologies, new strategies<\/h4>\n<p>In addition to the personal exchange, the focus on the two days of the congress will be on the numerous technical presentations. This year, they revolve around three main topics:<br \/>\n&#8211; Under the heading &#8220;Innovative Stamping Technology &#8211; Opening up New Markets by Substituting Established Manufacturing Processes&#8221;, Martin Lehmann, Key Account Manager at Otto Bihler Maschinenfabrik, will report, among others, on how efficient automation solutions secure a competitive edge. Roland Ackermann, Head of Sales &amp; Marketing at Bruderer, and Laszlo Jud, Head of Technology, demonstrate the flexibilization in stamping technology.<br \/>\n&#8211; &#8220;Paradigm Shift or Phrases&#8221; is the title of the second content complex, which deals with new technologies. Experts from science and industry will show what advances in artificial intelligence, Industry 4.0 and additive manufacturing mean for stamping technology.<br \/>\n&#8211; The third block of topics, &#8220;Strategy for Increasing Tool Life,&#8221; brings new insights into a classic challenge facing the industry. It will show how new materials, additives and process innovations are opening up opportunities for stamping companies to improve their competitiveness with the help of longer die service lives.<\/p>\n<h4>Panel Discussion &#8220;Turbulent Times &#8211; Responses to Radical Change&#8221;.<\/h4>\n<p>One of the highlights of the congress will be the panel discussion &#8220;Turbulent times &#8211; responses to radical change&#8221; on the second day. The event moderators Prof. Dr. Wolfram Volk and Prof. Dr. Hartmut Hoffmann from the Chair of Forming Technology and Foundry Engineering at the Technical University of Munich as well as the members of the congress advisory board will be available as discussion partners for the congress participants. Around 40 companies will be presenting their innovations for the industry in the foyer of the Congress Center.<br \/>\nThe first day of the event ends with an experience evening in Dortmund. The following morning, the host city and its soccer club will once again play a role at the congress: Carsten Cramer, Managing Director of BVB Dortmund, will then speak about the importance of Borussia as an economic factor in the region.<\/p>\n<p>About the Competence and Innovation Center for Stamping Technology Dortmund e.V.. (KIST):<\/p>\n<p>KIST sees itself as a technology catalyst in the stamping industry and promoter of personnel development for machine operators and managers. Among other things, specialized training and courses are offered. The center employs 20 people. The initiator and Chairman of the Board of KIST is Adolf Edler von Graeve, who was previously Managing Partner at the Swiss press manufacturer Bruderer for more than 50 years.<br \/>\nThe association was founded in 2005 as an innovative model project with the support of the European Social Fund, the North Rhine-Westphalian state government and the city of Dortmund.
