Both companies were already part of Tecinvest Holding AG.<\/h3>\n<p>The merger will create a provider of sensor technology, process monitoring, and scanner and software systems for industrial laser processing. Both companies have experience in complementary application areas. While Blackbird Robotersysteme specializes in systems for remote laser welding, on-the-fly processing, scanner controls, and intuitive control software, Lessm\u00fcller Lasertechnik offers optical process sensors, OCT technology, and in-process quality assurance. The existing brand names\u2014Blackbird and Lessm\u00fcller\u2014will continue to be used at the product level.
