One focus is on the mechanical testing of metals, plastics and adhesive bonds &#8211; under realistic conditions and with the highest standards of precision and reproducibility. <\/h3>\n<p>The OHLF uses various testing systems from ZwickRoell for these tasks. The institute uses several AllroundLine testing machines with a force range from 50 kN to 250 kN, equipped with different test fixtures, extensometers and a temperature chamber for tests at -70 \u00b0C to +250 \u00b0C. <\/p>\n<p>In addition, a servo-hydraulic portal test bench with a clamping field of 4000 \u00d7 3000 mm is available. Three hydrostatically mounted test cylinders (2\u00d7 100 kN, 1\u00d7 50 kN) enable individually adjustable loads and frequencies &#8211; ideal for large-area component tests.<br \/>\nThe equipment is supplemented by systems for optical strain measurement in the micrometre range as well as systems for tensile and puncture tests with forces of up to 40 kN and speeds of up to 20 m\/s, as required for crash-relevant tests. <\/p>\n<p>Another focus is on fatigue tests, in which the service life of materials under cyclic loads is examined. These tests provide important data for so-called W\u00f6hler curves (s-n curves) &#8211; a crucial basis for assessing fatigue strength. <\/p>\n<h4>Reliable technology partner in everyday research<\/h4>\n<p>&#8220;The ZwickRoell testing systems impress with their precise technology, reliable performance and versatility for demanding applications,&#8221; praises Florian Holze, Head of the Technical Center at the OHLF.
