Around 220 domestic and foreign industry participants from industry, services, research and education took part in presentations and discussions on topics such as how stamped parts can be produced in a &#8220;greener&#8221; way. Some of the speakers on the two other main topics of the congress, &#8220;Networked processes and automation solutions&#8221; and &#8220;Intelligent tool concepts&#8221;, followed on from the main topic.<\/h3>\n<p>The presentations and panel discussion highlighted numerous different facets of &#8220;green production&#8221; in the industry. This included resource-efficient production with intelligent tool concepts and the production of green steel as well as the environmental aspects of punching tool construction and press automation and the use of a wide range of renewable energies.<\/p>\n<h4>&#8220;Green production&#8221; has many aspects<\/h4>\n<p>The importance of the CO2 footprint in the supply chain law, its size in the life of a stamping press and BMW&#8217;s approach to assessing and reducing emissions in the supply chain were also discussed. Using a concrete example, a presentation showed the practical implementation of sustainability requirements by a medium-sized company.<br \/>\nDuring the lively panel discussion on &#8220;Green production &#8211; the tension between political targets and real production requirements&#8221;, the audience benefited from a wide range of opinions that brought many points of view to the table.<\/p>\n<h4>Networked processes and automation solutions<\/h4>\n<p>Some of the presentations on the second focus &#8220;Networked processes &#8211; automation solutions: Tooling to peripherals&#8221; also addressed aspects of sustainability and resource efficiency. The presentations focused on possibilities and examples of press automation and networking from coil to data management as well as efficient stator and rotor production.<\/p>\n<h4>Intelligent tool concepts<\/h4>\n<p>The third topic area &#8220;Intelligent tool concepts &#8211; from standardization to active tool control&#8221; rounded off the congress programme. The focus was on competitiveness in punching tool construction, coating technologies in tool technology, fine blanking of high-performance gears and the importance of the right guide elements in tool construction.<\/p>\n<h4>Proven experts as sponsors<\/h4>\n<p>The 14th Congress on Stamping Technology was organized by the Competence and Innovation Centre for Stamping Technology Dortmund KIST and the Chair of Forming Technology and Foundry Science at the Technical University of Munich.
