SMS placed sustainability, digitalization and innovative strength at the heart of its trade fair presence at Wire and Tube. The focus is particularly on the influence of energy transportation and hydrogen on market development.<\/h3>\n

Thomas Ma\u00dfmann, Executive Vice President Long Products of the SMS Group, emphasizes the importance of this trade fair for the current changes in the tube and wire industry, which are increasingly focusing on innovations to increase productivity and sustainability.<\/p>\n

“The exchange between the companies on the manufacture of large-diameter pipes, the monitoring of production quality and the use of hydrogen are important topics that I would like to discuss with customers and partners and I look forward to a lively exchange,” says Thomas Ma\u00dfmann.
\nSMS is focusing on current topics such as decarbonization, digitalization, sustainability and livecycle partnerships in order to redefine the role of the plant manufacturer beyond traditional boundaries.<\/p>\n

Innovations and sustainability<\/h4>\n

SMS develops innovative solutions to minimize losses when transporting highly volatile hydrogen or natural gas, as there is an urgent need for tight, non-porous pipes and containers. At Wire and Tube, SMS will also be offering insights into everything from sustainable reinforcing steel mini-mills to the world’s largest ERW tube welding plant. The presentation of the largest ERW-welded pipe of its kind is a true testament to SMS’s commitment to pushing the technological boundaries of the industry.<\/p>\n

“This exhibit symbolizes SMS group’s commitment to innovation and continuous development,” adds Thomas Ma\u00dfmann. The new autonomous measuring system for premium threads will also be on show at the trade fair. These advances underline SMS’s focus on innovation. “We are at a critical point in the steel industry where the focus on sustainable and efficient production methods has never been more important,” says Thomas Ma\u00dfmann.<\/p>\n

Leading Partner Talks and joint success<\/h4>\n

The “Leading Partner Talks” offered at the SMS trade fair stand are an important part of SMS’s trade fair presence. They offer participants insights into technologies, collaborations and projects directly from the perspective of customers and industry experts.<\/p>\n
