It develops products with an innovative design to produce lighter and safer vehicles that offer lower energy consumption and reduce environmental impact. The products cover the areas of bodywork, chassis and mechanics. The company is present in 24 countries around the world with more than 115 production facilities (5 are under construction), 13 R&amp;D centers and almost 43,000 employees.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The partnership with SSAB in fossil-free steel will further strengthen Gestamp&#8217;s position in the development of innovative and sustainable automotive components to achieve ever safer, lighter vehicles and thus reduce energy consumption and environmental impact. SSAB&#8217;s production of fossil-free steel eliminates virtually all carbon dioxide emissions. The by-product of steel production would then be water.
